In this class you are only required to have fifteen (15) entries.

Some of your Annotated Bibliography entries were submitted, corrected, and returned in REFLECTIONS: Self-Assessment Quizzes. Points were not deducted from your REFLECTIONS Quiz for any corrections that needed to be made to those annotations.

However, in this assignment you will receive a final grade for the Annotated Bibliography. Since necessary corrections were already noted for you, I would expect to see correct citations/annotations in this submitted assignment.

The citation of each source must be in the latest MLA Format:

(All Internet sources must be valid and approved by the instructor).

In this course, I require fifteen (15) sources/entries in your Annotated bibliography.

If (15) sources are submitted, five (5) may be approved Internet sources and ten (10) must be hard-copy sources. All fifteen (15) sources may also be hard-copy sources.

In addition, I am requiring that each annotation contain certain elements:

    Celebrate Diversity in the Workplace

Today’s competitive market includes international business. Actively recruiting different individuals into a workplace will not magically create a unified work environment simply because they share a common purpose; it is certain that unique challenges will arise. Some challenges include cultural differences and different religious beliefs. This week, please interview at least two current or previous human resource personnel to learn unique and engaging ways to celebrate diversity in the workplace. Some large companies include diversity and inclusion staff in their human resource departments. Not all companies are large enough to have diversity and inclusion staff. Any member of the human resource team can provide insight into this topic. The insightful information that emerges should be incorporated into your assignment (annual plan).

Create an annual plan that explains how a human resource department could recognize and celebrate different cultures, helping employees understand more about the backgrounds of their fellow co-workers. The plan can include educational cultural experiences, festivities from various cultures, etc. The experiences should include the activities, timeframe, duration, and purpose. Suggestions should come from interviews and academic research for best practices among human resource departments.

Hedging is the act of buying and selling financial claims or using other financial tools, business and finance homework help

Hedging is the act of buying and selling financial claims or using other financial tools in order to protect against the risk of fluctuations in market prices or interest rates. There have been many famous hedge funds which have resulted in the loss of huge amounts of consumer money. Please discuss one of these cases to examine and make recommendations as to how the individuals and organizations who participated in these funds could have minimized their risk.

    Instructions

    • Describe an overview of the case and players involved.
    • Describe amount of money lost and from what source of industry this loss occurred.
    • Include the length of time this fund was active in the market.
    • Describe the outcomes for the individuals who were involved in the fund. I.e. prison terms, payback orders.

    Primary Source Hunt

Activity: Open these three links to digital repositories containing resources related to the dropping of the atomic bomb. Browse through each repository (Truman
Library Collections, Voices of the Manhattan Project, and National Security Archive), and think about how useful these repositories would be to you if you were a
historian seeking to write a biography on the scientist Leo Szilard (pronounced SIL-lard) who helped develop the atomic bomb and also campaigned against its use.
    1. Truman Library Collections
    2. Voices of the Manhattan Project
    3. Atomic Heritage Foundation

As you explore each repository, try to locate the following primary sources that you might consult to write a chapter about Szilard’s campaign against dropping the
atomic bomb. Each primary source is located in only one of the above repositories. Try your best to locate each source, but it is OK if you are not able to locate all
three. If you are successful in your search, try skimming through the sources you find.
    1. The transcription of the oral history interview with Tom Evans, a close friend of President Truman’s, discussing scientists’ opposition to the use of the
    atomic bomb
    2. A petition against the use of the atomic bomb circulated by Szilard directed toward President Truman
    3. An interview with Lilli Hornig, a scientist who signed Szilard’s petition against the use of the atomic bomb
To do this, develop search terms similar to the examples shown in the Module Two Module Overview. Only use these three online repositories to locate these
sources—do not consult Google or any other search engine. Take notes on the search terms that are successful and keep the links to the sources you find.
Prompt: In two to three sentences, respond to each question. To develop your responses, combine your experience using search terms to locate the three
primary sources in this module with your own reflections on the questions posed. Regardless of whether or not you were able to find all three primary sources,
complete all question prompts before you submit your responses. If you were not able to find the primary sources, let your instructor know what search terms
you did use so he or she can provide you with feedback on how to develop effective search terms.

    1. Describe your overall experience locating these primary sources. Was it challenging or straightforward? Do you learn anything interesting along theway?

    2. Were you able to locate an interview with Tom Evans, a close friend of President Truman’s, who interacted with scientists who were trying to reach
Truman with their campaign against the use of the atomic bomb? Share your search terms and a link to the primary source.

    3. Were you able to locate a petition against the use of the atomic bomb circulated by Leo Szilard directed toward President Truman? Share your search
terms and a link to the primary source.

    4. Were you able to locate an interview with Lilli Hornig, a scientist who signed Szilard’s petition against the use of the atomic bomb?

    Share your search
terms and a link to the primary source.

    Surprise Ending Essay

Write a three to four (3-4) paragraph essay (250 words minimum) which analyzes the “surprise ending” of the reading selection.

Topic: Reading selection of Swift’s A Modest Proposal. It is essential to recognize the genre of this work, as discussed in our class text, which you should consult and cite. Swift promotes a radical solution, but subtle options are mentioned. You are looking for surprise and a point of realization. Read and focus on A Modest Proposal located at http://www.victorianweb.org/previctorian/swift/modest.html.

For the reading selection you choose:

    1. Clearly state in your own words the “surprise ending” in the reading you selected. Clearly identify the point in the reading when you realized that there were elements in the reading that surprised you. Not all of the surprises come at the end.
    2. Evaluate how successful the author was in convincing you to accept the validity of the “surprise ending” that was different from what you expected.

Your assignment must follow these formatting requirements:

    • Be typed, double spaced, using Times New Roman font (size 12), with one-inch margins on all sides; citations and references must follow APA Style format. Check with your professor for any additional instructions. (Note: Students can find APA style materials located in the Additional Resources section of their Student Center within their course shell for reference)
    • Include a cover page containing the title of the assignment, the student’s name, the professor’s name, the course title, and the date. The cover page and the reference page are not included in the required assignment page length.
    • Use the source(s) identified above for the topic you choose, focusing on the main primary source of that author. You may use additional sources also if they are of good academic quality for college papers (Wikipedia and similar websites do not qualify). Use proper APA style in-text citing and also a matching APA style References list at the end.

The specific course learning outcomes associated with this assignment are:

    • Explain how key social, cultural, and artistic contributions contribute to historical changes.
    • Explain the importance of situating a society’s cultural and artistic expressions within a historical context.
    • Examine the influences of intellectual, religious, political, and socio-economic forces on social, cultural, and artistic expressions.

    • Whether or not to engage in sexual activity with a dating partner.
    • Whether or not to drink alcohol.
    • Whether or not to cheat on an assignment.
    • Whether or not to get a summer job.
    • Whether or not to get into a physical fight.

    For your chosen topic, address:

    • The factors influencing the adolescents cognitive development and decision making.
    • How the biological and cognitive perspective would explain the adolescent’s decision making.
    • How family patterns might explain the adolescent’s decision making.

Be sure to support the paper with concepts from your assigned readings and at least two peer-reviewed and scholarly resources no more than 5 years old. Use current APA style and formatting for the paper and references. The resources introduced in the second study in Unit 1 can help you in writing and formatting your paper.
