PV005: Commitment to Lifelong Learning and Professionalism

Instructions

Access the following to complete this Assessment:

Before submitting your Assessment, carefully review the rubric. This is the same rubric the assessor will use to evaluate your submission and it provides detailed criteria describing how to achieve or master the Competency. Many students find that understanding the requirements of the Assessment and the rubric criteria help them direct their focus and use their time most productively.

This assessment has four-parts. Click each of the items below to complete this assessment.

Part I: Professional Goals and Self-Assessment

  1. Start with the end in mind. Consider the goals you want to achieve as an early childhood professional. What are your highest aspirations for serving children and families? Write two long-term goals in the appropriate “Part One” of the Professional Development Worksheet that reflect NAEYC standards for professional preparation.
  2. Consider where you are now in relation to your long-term goals and aspirations. Reflect on your current knowledge, skills, and experience. Think about your areas of strength and areas for growth, including areas of study and professional interaction that have been most interesting and inspiring to you. Consider this information within the context of each of the following core areas of the early childhood profession:
    • Safe and Healthy Learning Environments
    • Physical and Intellectual Development
    • Social and Emotional Development
    • Relationships With Families
    • Program Management
    • Professionalism
    • Observing and Recording Behavior
    • Child Growth and Development
  3. Record your areas of strength, areas for growth, and areas of interest and inspiration for at least three of these areas on the Professional Development Worksheet.
  4. With these areas in mind, formulate three very specific and clear near-term goals—measureable goals that you will achieve in the next 6 months to 1 year. List them on the worksheet. These will be the goals that drive your Individual Professional Development Plan (IPDP).

Part II: Research to Inform Professional Development

Each of the near-term goals you identified on your Professional Development Worksheet is impacted by the broader landscape of the early childhood field. For example, you may have a goal of initiating advocacy efforts in an area in which new sources of funding are being made available at a national level. Or, it may be an area in which funding is being withdrawn. Understanding how your goals are influenced by current research, policies, issues, and trends can help you to be more strategic in deciding where to focus your professional growth and learning.

Consider each of the near-term goals you identified on your Professional Development Worksheet. In “Section Two” of the worksheet, summarize the larger context at the community, state, national, and/or global levels as follows:

  1. Describe at least three examples of current research, policies, issues, and/or trends that inform your near-term goals. Explain how the current research, policies, issues, and/or trends support or impede your ability to reach your goals.
  2. Explain how you can apply your learning about the research, policies, issues, or trends to advance toward achieving your goals.

Part III: Professional Organizations and Resources

Whatever the policies, issues, and trends may be affecting the early childhood field, a multitude of professional organizations and resources are available to provide information, training, guidance, and support that can assist you in reaching your professional goals.

Reflect on the policies, issues, and trends impacting your near-term goals. Based on this reflection, in “Section 3” of your Professional Development Worksheet, identify at least three professional organizations and resources that would be beneficial in supporting your ongoing development. For each organization and resource selected, include the following:

  • Name of organization or resource
  • Website or contact information
  • Brief overview of purpose of organization or resource
  • Explanation of how the organization can support achievement of near-term goals

Part IV: Individual Professional Development Plan (IPDP)

Attaining your goals requires far more than identifying what you would like to achieve. You also need to identify specific strategies and resources for achieving each goal, a timeline for completion, and progress measures. These are the components of an Individual Professional Development Plan (IPDP). Your IPDP serves becomes the cornerstone of your professional development. It serves as a guidepost for your professional development, providing pathways for translating your goals into concrete action steps.

Based on the information you gathered in your worksheet, complete the IPDP Template to create your Individual Professional Development Plan. An example of how to fill out each column is provided in the first row of the template.

After completing the IPDP, choose two action steps from your plan to implement. Provide evidence to demonstrate that you completed the action step and attach it as an appendix to your IPDP. Examples of evidence might include such items as a certificate of attendance from a professional conference, interview notes, and/or photographs.

IMPORTANT NOTE REGARDING WORD LIMIT REQUIREMENTS:

Please note that each and every assignment has its own word limit.

Identify and describe an example from the research literature of a health communication program for motivating behavior change among clinicians or other health professionals

Professional medical communication are applications of health communication, theories, models, and practices to programs that look to encourage behavior and the social settings of professionals who are in charge of providing health care (Schiavo, 2014). This process is used to implement planned programs for physicians, nurses, therapists and other health care providers which sole purpose is to promote medical and health practices, create innovative medical ideas and ethical practices of care, make public of medical discoveries and beliefs and policies, change medical priorities and improve health policy changes (Schiavo, 2014).

Clinical practices and policies are put in place to develop partnerships with patients to find open pathways to communicate and address patients’ concerns in regards to concerns on asthma and asthma treatment. The literature on patient provider communication influences adherence to asthma medication proposes that providers must take on a communication style that improves motivation and trust which will support patients’ commitment to asthma medication regimens (Young et al., 2017). To make a proposal on behavior change, different ranges of communication skills are implemented. These communication skills inspire and reinforce self-management behavior for patients (Young et al., 2017). The theory of motivational interviewing is a theory clinical technique and counseling psychotherapy that help evaluate patients’ foundation for motivation and supporting them to conform to change (Young et al., 2017).

Why was this an effective strategy? What was the outcome?

This was an effective strategy as the communication policies created positive pathways between patients and provider communication outcomes (Young et al., 2017). Communication strategies strengthen patients’ trust and motivated them to take the required asthma medication. Findings revealed that getting individuals to change behavior could be hard. Self-management skills can have a huge impact on physiologic status, symptoms, and physiologic functioning and quality of life (Young et al., 2017). Additional outcomes are that training programs should be put in place to bring a level of awareness among health care providers to improve patient loyalty and simplify the acceptance of applying communication skills into practice. (Young et al., 2017).

Developing the Brand Strategy

The board has called a meeting to see how the new product for MM is coming along. Michelle calls you about the meeting.

“I like your ideas for branding the product,” she says. “I think the board wants an overview now of the whole process we are using for developing the new product. Can you do that?”
“Thanks for the comments about the branding strategy,” you say. “I tried to be creative with my approach. I’d be glad to show the board the process we are using to develop the new product.”
“Great,” she says. “Why don’t you do what you did last time? The 10–15 slides that you presented worked well in the 30-minute time slot.”
“In the past I’ve done similar presentations and have a format that really works. The board has been very receptive to the flow of the information and I think it will work for us for this presentation too,” she adds. “I’ll instant message the information to you after our meeting. The flow might work for you also.”

base salary statistics, Compensation Assignment help

Compensation
information is now widely available. Click on the website www.salary.com . This site provides free data on jobs, including job
description, annual salary by zip code, distribution by quartiles of salary
amounts, info on benefits, and so forth. The basic information that an
organization would get if it bought a salary survey from a consultant or
conducted its own salary survey can be found here.

This site provides pay data on hundreds of jobs in cities all
over the U.S. in many different industries. Identify several jobs (at least
three) of interest to you, such as accountant, financial analyst, product
manager, stockbroker, or manager compensation. Select specific cities or use
the national average. Obtain the median, the 25th and 75th percentile base
wage, and the total cash compensation rates for each job.

Using 10 pages of contents, respond to the following questions. (Any diagrams, graphs, cover page and references does not count to the page length)

1.
Which jobs are paid
more or less? Is this what you would have expected? Why, or why not? What
factors could explain the differences in the salaries?

2.
Do the jobs have
different bonuses as a percentage of their base salaries? Why, or why not? What
could explain these differences?

3.
Do the data include
the value of the stock options? What are the implications of this?

4.
Read the job
descriptions. Are they accurate descriptions for jobs that you would be
applying for? Why, or why not? Are there jobs for which you cannot find an
appropriate match? Why do you think this is the case?

5.
Check out pay levels
for these types of jobs in your school’s career office or other local or
regional source. How does the pay for jobs advertised in your career office or
other local or regional source differ from pay levels from other sources? Why
do you think these differences exist?

6.
How do you use this
information while negotiating your salary in your job after graduation or when
you apply for a different job? What data would you provide to support your
asking price? What factors will influence whether or not you get what you ask
for?

7.
What is the relevant
labor market for these jobs? How big are the differences between salaries in
different locations?

8.
For each job, compare
the median salary to the low and high averages. How much variation exists? What
factors might explain this variation in pay rates for the same job?

9.
Look for a description
of how the salary data are developed. Do you think it provides enough
information? Why, or why not? Discuss some of the factors that might impair the
accuracy of the data. What are the implications of using inaccurate salary data
for individuals or companies?

10.
With this information
available for free, why would you bother with consultants’ surveys?

11.
If you were a manager,
how would you justify paying one of your employees, either higher or lower,
than the results shown on this website?

Attached is the already submitted assignment of someone’s else .Please look
