Please start a discussion comparing Singin’ In The Rain with ONE musical number from a musical of your choice and
analyze it by noting a connection to the styles of Berkeley, Astaire,
Kelly, or Fosse. Often, as in the case of Moulin Rouge! you will see
style elements from all four in one film.

In
your post, you will want to post a link to the clip in question
whenever possible as it adds everything to those of us who have not seen
your movie of choice. Remember that you will want to include examples from Singin’ in the Rain in your original post.
Also remember that you cannot repeat movies – points will be taken off
– and to make sure that each of your posts have something legitimate to
say!

Finally
do NOT reference another Kelly/Berkeley/Fosse/Astaire film as your
comparison movie but choose one with a different director and cast.

Remember
that you are being asked to find a relatively modern musical and to
identify the influences of Berkeley, Astaire, Kelly, and Fosse – I
guarantee you will indeed find these influences all over your chosen
pictures.

Comment this…..

It is difficult to say how we know what is right and what is wrong and I think that people in certain cases have different views on what they believe is right versus what is wrong. I think that a way many people look at right versus wrong in their life is determined by rules or laws that govern their lives. I think a person’s beliefs are formed on this topic mostly in the way they were raised or grew up and the rules they had to follow in order to know what is right or wrong. I think also that a person determines right or wrong based on their spiritual or religious beliefs as well. I know that growing up Catholic we were always taught the ten commandments which were rules which governed our lives and I do think that they are a good foundation for right vs wrong to live your life by.

MSW Norms Discussion, What do you want us to know about your diversity, sociology homework help

Identify and describe one trait or characteristic that you see as setting you apart from the “norm” in society against which all other people are measured (white, male, 35 years old, upper middle class, Protestant, married, heterosexual, able-bodied, and able-minded). For instance, characteristics such as ‘I am resilient.’; ‘I am a strong person.’; I am prompt’; may not be a characteristic that is distinct to who you are (could change over time, etc.).

Not all diversity is visible, so use your critical thinking skills to highlight something about yourself that is unique.

  • What do you want us to know about your diversity?
  • What challenges does society present you because of your diversity?

Please work into your answer material from the weekly readings as you reflect on your diversity.
