Course Project Task VI/Final Literature Review

Assignment 1: Course Project Task VI/Final Literature Review

In this module, revise the Literature Review for final submission based on feedback from the instructor and the Turnitin report. Submit the final submission of your literature by the due date assigned.

Your facilitator used the very detailed Module 6 Assignment and Grading criteria to provide feedback and suggest corrections to your literature review draft. Return to those materials to review and correct your draft, turning it into a final version. Ask yourself if you have accomplished the following:

  • Written an effectively organized paper, with an introduction [including the 4 essential elements], a body with sub headings that matched your introductory map, and a conclusion/summary that returned to your introductory purpose, map, and key themes.
  • Explained the significance of your research topic and clearly stated a relational research question–as a question [?]; supported the importance of and/or benefits of studying your topic and question, with demographics and statistics..
  • Used themes or another clearly organized way to analyze and synthesize the relationships and differences among and across the studies.
  • Identified a theory base or conceptual framework.
  • Had a minimum length of 10 pages and a minimum of 10 references; at least 1/2 were clearly marked as qualitative or quantitative studies.
  • Cross-listed the well formatted in-text citations with the Reference page, and utilized appropriate APA guidelines and format.
  • Submitted a nearly error-free paper, denoting the use of spell check and proofreading.
  • Wrote clearly and succinctly throughout the paper, utilizing active voice when appropriate.

Read your instructor’s comments and feedback on your first draft of the literature review as soon as you receive it. After you have completed your reading, take time to analyze the feedback and note the primary areas where you will need to make changes. As you go through your facilitator’s comments, look for the following common areas for improvement, often cited in first drafts:

  • Were there consistent comments related to the same areas, for example, APA citation or grammar errors? Were themes clearly stated in the map and then used as sub headings in the body of the paper? Were themes supported by examples from different literature sources?
  • Was there a specific element missing from your first draft, for example, lack of a discussion of a theoretical base?
  • Were biased or opinionated statements made, with no data or examples provided for support?

Also, review and interpret the Turnitin report carefully and correct citations and parahrases as needed.

All written assignments and responses should follow APA style in formatting and attributing sources.

Complete the finalization of your literature review, incorporating the feedback received from your facilitator. Submit the document to the Submissions Area and name the file W7000_M7_A2_lastname_firstinitial.doc.

Note: Use the Highlight feature of Microsoft Word to identify areas where you have made corrections or developed additional content in response to feedback received.

All written assignments and responses should follow APA rules for attributing sources.

Please make sure you review the elements of the grading criteria and associated points carefully and make sure your assignment has addressed all the elements and in enough detail to merit full points.

Alternative to Retributive Justice In Chapter 5 of the text, the author discuss

Alternative to Retributive Justice

In Chapter 5 of the text, the author discusses four alternatives to retributive justice: corrective justice, reformative justice, restorative justice, and transformative justice (see Section 5.3).

In “Case Study 5.5 – Dead Woman Walking,” the text describes the circumstances that led to the 1998 execution in Texas of Karla Faye Tucker. Before she was executed she requested, but was denied, clemency. Her cause was supported by many political, correctional, and moral leaders.

Would the application of any of the four alternatives to retribution have produced a more just outcome?

Your initial post must explain and apply each of the four alternative theories of justice to Karla Faye Tucker’s case. Also, critically evaluate each of the alternatives in the circumstances of her case. Why does each theory produce a more or less just outcome than the approach actually followed by the State of Texas? Finally, is the utility of each alternative limited to the unusual circumstances of Karla’s case or do they have value more generally to merit consideration as a more just approach than retributive justice?

Your initial post should be at least 300 words in length. Support your claims with examples from the textbook and two other scholarly resources of your choice, and properly cite any references. Respond to at least two of your classmates’ posts by Day 7 whose viewpoints are different from yours. Each peer response must be at least 125 words. Stimulate critical thinking by contrasting your perspective with your classmate’s and explaining yours, or by asking your classmate a question and explaining why your question is significant.

Find additional sources to expand the conversation around Emotional Intelligence as relates to leadership and cite all source(s) please.

Final Rough Draft

Final Paper Rough Draft

Review the Final Paper instructions in Week Five of this course.

Then, write a rough draft for your Final Paper, in which you compare and contrast two literary works from this course that share the same theme (using the “Themes & Corresponding Works” list in the Week Five Final Paper instructions, as a guide).

The two stories being needed to be used is

  • Country Lovers (Gordimer)
  • The Story of an Hour (Chopin)

The paper should be organized around your thesis (argument), which is the main point of the entire essay. When developing a thesis for a comparative paper, consider how a comparison of the works provides deeper insight into the topic of your paper (i.e., think about why you have chosen to look at these particular works in relation to one another). In your analysis, consider the relationships among the following elements:

  • Content
  • Form (e.g., short story vs. poem)
  • Style

Assignment Requirements

  • Theme: Your paper must address one of the themes listed.
  • Length: Your draft should be six to ten double-spaced pages in length (excluding title and reference page)
  • Sources: Utilize at least six scholarly sources to support your thesis (including the course text and at least two sources from the Ashford Online Library).
  • APA: Your draft must be formatted to APA (6th edition) style.
    • Separate Title Page: Must include an original title
    • Separate Reference Page
    • Proper Citations: All sources must be properly cited, both within the text and in a separate reference page.
  • Elements of Academic Writing:  All academic papers should include these elements.
    • Introduction with a thesis statement
    • Supporting paragraphs
    • Conclusion

Recommendations

  • APA samples and tutorials are available to you in the Ashford Writing Center, located in the left navigation bar.
  • Try to develop your draft as thoroughly as possible. Doing so will allow your instructor to provide you with more specific feedback, and will help you to produce a higher-quality final paper.

Quantitative research discussion, writing homework help

Please do a paragraph about this post with this instruction . post most have  4 or more  sentences .you also have to have a high quality post from a content perspective. This means it also needs to do more than agree with or praise a class mate. If you agree with a classmate, explain why, give an example, share what you learned in the readings

Quantitative research is a formal, objective rigorous, systemic process for generating numerical information about the world.  It is conducted to describe new situations, events, or concepts; examine relationships among variables; and determine the effectiveness of treatments or interventions on selected health outcomes in the world. The Quantitative methods (approaches) commonly used are; Descriptive, Correlational, Quasi-experimental and Experimental.  Its research is a scientific investigation conducted to generate knowledge that will directly influence through evidence-base practice to improve clinical practice.

Qualitative research is a systematic approach through oral and written description used to describe experiences and situations from the perspective of the person in the situation.  Qualitative methods seek to provide a holistic picture of the human experience. Qualitative research is also rigorous because it is detailed build with careful data collection and thoroughness of analysis.  For this reason, it is valued and deemed more credible and of greater worth (Bellali, 2011).  The findings from a qualitative study, leads to an understanding of a phenomenon in a particular situation and are not generalized in the same way as a quantitative study. Qualitative method increases the nurses’ understanding of the best way to intervene and be supported.

Mixed methods research is valuable, appreciating the different blends of knowledge claims, enquiry strategies, and methods combining quantitative and qualitative research techniques, methods, approaches, concepts or language into a single study. Investigator collects and analyzes data, integrates the findings, and draws inferences using both qualitative and quantitative approaches (Maudsley, 2011).  Another advantage is that qualitative method will gives insight to the statistical quantitative method for better understanding.  The disadvantage is that including both methods can be rigorous, as the write-ups should report the ‘mixing’, as appropriate, rather than reporting qualitative–quantitative components separately.  Write-ups should also explicitly highlight what has been mixed and implicitly acknowledging the required rigour, expertise, time, and effort (Maudsley, 2011).

Skin Cancer

1) Discuss the warning signs of skin cancer

2) How does geographic location affect the incidence of skin cancers?

3) Discuss methods of prevention or reducing risks of developing skin cancer

4 ) Case Study Mr. J., age 42, is a construction worker in Las Vegas. He recently noticed that a mole on his face seemed to be getting larger and darker. At first he did not worry since he was in the sun a lot and he assumed the change may have been due to sunburn. After a month, not only was the mole larger and darker but it appeared to be “bumpy”. His doctor diagnosed a malignant melanoma skin cancer following biopsy of the nevus. Mr. J. reports pain in his right shin that does not go away when he puts his feet up or sleeps.
