1. Excluding York University’s recent labour strife, identify a contemporary labour dispute in a unionized or
non-unionized workplace in Canada. How would two varying perspectives on Labour-Capital Relations
(Neoliberal, Managerialist, Orthodox-Pluralist, Liberal-Reformist, and Radical Perspective) understand and
interpret this conflict? Which views do you find most convincing and why?
2. Compare and contrast the three major waves of trade unionism in Canada. In your view, what key moments
are emblematic of these shifts? What explains the differences between private and public sector union
coverage, and is this is any way related to neoliberal globalization? Explain if this has been a positive or
negative development in your view.
3. With consideration as to the role of the state in capitalist societies, what do you think is the appropriate
approach for the government vis-à-vis labour-relations? How do power relations differ when negotiating
individually versus collectively?
4. Are public services a democratizing force in society or are they better left to the market? Explain your
position with supporting evidence.
5. Compare and contrast business unionism and social movement unionism. How might they utilize different
political strategies? And are there broader social and economic benefits to a highly unionized workforce?
Explain your answers with supporting evidence.

Looking for help with a paper, for more info see below:

Jeff is now 50 years old. He is still overweight and has developed
both high blood pressure and type 2 diabetes. At the same time, Jeff has
some accomplishments. He is the CEO of a midsize company that he built
from the ground up. However, he works long hours and does not spend as
much time with friends or vacationing as he would like. Still, he lives a
comfortable life and is married, with two children. He has a daughter
in college and another who is a senior in high school.

Use your module readings and the Argosy University online library
resources to research the stages of adult development proposed by Erik
Erikson and Daniel Levinson. Locate at least two peer-reviewed articles
that examine these theories. Write a 4-5 page paper in which you compare
and contrast Erikson’s and Levinson’s theories of development during
midlife and summarize the findings and conclusions of at least two
research studies examining Erikson’s and Levinson’s theories.
In your paper, use Erikson’s and Levinson’s theories to

  • Describe the physical, social, cognitive, and emotional development
of Jeff as he has transitioned from early adulthood into middle
    adulthood.
  • Predict Jeff’s development as he moves through middle adulthood and into late adulthood.

Be sure to incorporate how issues specific to diversity (e.g.,
socioeconomic status, ethnicity, religion, gender, etc.) have affected
his transition into middle adulthood. For example, consider how Jeff’s
transition into middle adulthood would differ if he were Caucasian,
African-American, Asian-American, or Native-American. Similarly, how
would his development at midlife differ depending upon whether he lived
in New York City, Tucson, or Memphis?

Write a 4–5-page paper in Word format. Your paper should be
double-spaced and in 12 point, Times New Roman font with normal one-inch
margins, written in APA style, and free of typographical and
grammatical errors. It should include a title page with a running head
and a reference page. Use the following file naming convention:
LastnameFirstInitial_M3_A2.doc.

Case Study 9: The Shootings at the Columbine High School: The Law Enforcement

Read Case Study 9 and respond to the following questions:

  • Use this case to discuss the importance of effective administrative
communications to decision making and performance and assess if the
communication in the shooting incident was effective or not.  Be sure to cite
relevant examples from the case to support your arguments

Response must be between 75 to 150 words but may go longer depending on the topic. Outside sources must be referenced and cited.

Outcome #2 Ethical Leadership Analysis

  • read before you bid.

What leadership expertise does it take to guide and maintain organizational success? In this assignment you will consider the qualities and/or behaviors leaders must possess. You will write an essay with three parts:

  • Part One: Create a personal profile of your current strengths and skills applicable to leadership. Use the sources provided in the online Course Module or other research-based leadership profiles to inform your personal profile.
  • Part Two: Use scholarly sources to determine what leadership style best fits your persona, based on the research-informed profile you created in part one. Discuss how your leadership style relates to the traits and skills of ethical leaders and managers.
  • Part Three: Identify an ethical business situation, either from your experience or from your readings, that required leadership to fix. Describe the situation and your own plan of action that will bring about positive change and promote ownership on the part of all employees. Your action plan should include a discussion of the ethical beliefs or principles that inform your decisions about what to do, and should demonstrate how you would apply the traits and skills of ethical leaders and managers in this situation.

Finally, you will write a reflection on the relative effectiveness of your analysis, including specific lessons learned and recommendations for improvement.

Your project must be at least 8-10 pages in length. This means that for this deliverable, your title page, abstract page and reference page, are not part of the 8-10 pages. The 8-10 pages are the body of the deliverable.

Therefore, a successful deliverable should include a title page in APA format 6th edition; an abstract page in APA format 6th edition; at least 8-10 page of body in APA format 6th edition with all the elements needed and as described for Outcome #2; and a reference page that is in APA format 6th edition.

You are required to use at least 3-5 authoritative sources. APA format must be used for citations and references.

Program Implementation Plan SPP

For this Assignment, which you began in Week 7, you are going to create an implementation plan for your public health program. In order to create your plan, you need to determine which setting is most appropriate for your public health program. You also need to consider your target population and the steps you would take to implement your program. For this Assignment, it will be helpful to review the “Implement” section of the MAP-IT Model in the Learning Resources (Wukitsch, 2012) to create your plan.

By Day 7

Submit a 4- to 5-page paper in which you do the following:

  • Explain how you might implement your SPP in each of four settings (health care, community, school, and workplace).
  • Identify which participants (stakeholders, target populations) you might involve in each setting and explain why.
  • Explain which of the four settings is most appropriate for your SPP and why.
  • Describe the steps that you might use to implement your program in your selected setting.
  • Explain why your implementation plan will achieve the intended outcomes for your target population.

jump in essay

For this next assignment I want you to try your hand at writing from a different perspective. But not alone: I want you to jump into a significant object in your life, a photograph, painting, video of your choice and shift some of the literary elements around. The “shift options” include working with time, character, symbols(objects), or point of view. The paper needs to be 750-850 words, double-spaced, paragraphed, originally-titled, MLA format, visually and stylistically engaging (show don’t tell), grammatically clean, original and focused. There is no frame for the story; you “jump in” in 1stperson point of view—you are the character, the object, etc. Use Its person pronouns— “I,” “me,” “my”! You decide where to start the story.

Time: If you choose to work with time, you might consider the following: creating a scene where you are a character, depicting what happened before or after the story/film started or ended, putting part of a character’s story in a different time period, or giving an account of the story through the eyes of a character’s descendant .

Character: A couple of options concerning character include the following: tell part of the story from the point of view of an undeveloped character. Create a new character that will give a different perspective on an existing character.

Symbols/objects: You could tell part of a story through the eyes of a pivotal symbol/object. Think about what the object symbolizes: what is its story? How does it “work” in the story, poem, film?

Point of view: By using a minor character’s point of view, you can reveal a new perspective on the same plot line. Also, by coming from an object’s point of view, you can show an “if the walls could talk” perspective.

Using a piece of art/a photograph/a video/or a significant personal object are other options. When turning in your essay, please include a link or a copy of the piece of art, photograph.

This assignment will require you to use your vivid imagination by immersing yourself in the literature, film, video, piece of art, etc.—in other words, reread/look at the piece you are interested in using and take notes.

Your revision of the piece should demonstrate that you understand the piece completely.

write a reflection paper of 1-2 pages

Choose one of the following options and write a reflection paper of 1-2 pages (250-500 words) in accordance with the requirements outlined below.

(1) Why does Marx believe that the social production relation in capitalist society appears to be based on freedom and equality when viewed as a relation between discrete individuals, but is in fact a relation based on exploitation and domination when viewed as a relation between the members of distinct social classes?

(2) How can Marx’s demonstration of the social and historical (as opposed to natural) character of the relation between capitalists and workers in capitalist society be read as paralleling Mary Wollstonecraft’s argument about the relation between men and women in modern society?

In answering one of these questions, the paper should begin with a clear disclosure of your own position in the first paragraph. The position should be based on reasons that are outlined in the following paragraphs of the paper. In presenting reasons in favor of the position you have adopted, be sure to present at least one possible counterargument to your position and address it by seeking to explain how your position is reasonable despite this counterargument. The paper should include at least one direct citation from the text, but citations should be included only insofar as they contribute to the goal of presenting an argument for your adopted position.

Discussion. 200 words. apa

“Personality consists of the inner psychological characteristics that both determine and reflect how we think and act, which together form an individual’s distinctive character. Consumers often purchase products and brands because advertisers have given them “personalities” that differentiate them from competing offerings. Brand personification occurs when consumers attribute human traits or characteristics to a brand. A “brand personality” provides an emotional identity for a brand, which produces sentiments and feelings toward it among consumers. For example, consumers often view certain brands as “exciting,” sophisticated,” or “warm” and they buy brands that best match their self-concept (Schiffman & Wisenblit, 2015, p. 82).

People that are “high” self-monitors – influenced by other people’s perception of them will purchase popular brands especially in public consumption situations. When using the personality dimensions old-fashioned, wholesome, and traditional, consumers regularly think of the brands Quaker Oats and Maxwell House coffee.

What brands come to mind for each set of personality dimensions?

  1. Serious, intelligent, efficient
  2. Glamorous, romantic, sexy
  3. Rugged, outdoorsy, tough
