Discussion Making the right choices

Making the Right Choices

Prior to beginning this discussion, review this week’s readings and the Weekly Lecture.

The content of this course is detailed, necessary, and sometimes a bit confusing. As we wrap up the six weeks, with the final assignment being a collaboration of job analysis, job design, and performance evaluation, we must accept the fact that not everything fits into a nice, neat package. Due to time management or perhaps lack of resources, there are times that you may have to make a decision about the path you will take to accomplish a task. Our last discussion looks at the options and helps with the decision-making process for reshaping the task. The purpose of this discussion is a reminder that the role of the HRM must be fluid and adaptable to the task at hand.

Review each process (job analysis, job design, and performance evaluation), and determine what is a must-do and what can be eliminated when necessary for each process. Each review should be at least one paragraph with one resource supporting the must-do options. Defend all of your choices.

Address the following for each process.

  • Why must you do one task, and why would it be all right to not do another?
  • Will there be problems if you do not do something?
  • Is it possible to not do something now and perhaps readdress it later on without repercussions?

intro to humanties

1- Self-Portrait Presentation

Each student will create a 5-10 minute presentation that conveys the essence of their “self” through art. At least 5 works should be chosen. You will need to

  • present the art (via narrated PowerPoint, narrated Prezi, or video), MAKE SURE IT IS FULLY NARRATED AND ON AUTO PLAY so the viewer doesn’t have to click on every slide. One of the easiest ways to do this is to create your PowerPoint with the embedded narration and all transitions and then export it as a video.
  • tell us about the art (artist, when it was created, define the type of art, gives us some context about how it was created)
  • explain how/why it represents you
  • identify a social angle for each work AND do a thorough contextual analysis
    • race and ethnicity
    • gender and sexuality
    • class and highbrow/lowbrow
    • colonialism, postcolonialism, place and regionalism
    • nature (environment, ecology) and culture
    • memory, history, generational identity
    • food culture
    • body and mind

You can use ANY type of art covered in our class, including the performing arts (play, dance, music) that are in Module 3. The WHY it represents you is the most important part of the project. Each student is also required to find something in common with another student based upon self-portraits and to identify that “something in common” in a discussion comment of at least 50 words. ———————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————-

2- Final Creative Art Project: PROPOSAL

The goal of the creative art project is to provide you with an opportunity to create an original work of art and show how much you learned in this class. You can choose any visual form or medium and show your creativity and imagination. You are required to submit a creative art project in order to pass the class in order to meet the University’s Foundations of Knowledge and Learning Core Curriculum Fine Arts requirement.

Step 1 – Choose an Artist

First, you need to choose an artist (painter, sculptor, photographer, etc.) whose work is interesting and inspiring to you. Do not copy his/her work but use it as a starting point for your project. For example, if you choose Boticelli’s The Birth of Venus, you may use the same mythological theme in a different medium such as sculpture, mosaic, or song.

Step 2 – Research

  1. Research the time period of your artist.
  2. Research the artist’s biography.
  3. Research the artist’s techniques, ideas, and inspirations.

The more information you know about the artist, the better you will understand the work that inspired you to create your project. Select 1 work by this artist that you particularly admire. You will be required to submit an image of this artwork at the end of the semester along with the project itself.

Step 3 – Proposal

  1. Decide on a medium (pain, clay, etc.).
  2. Type your project proposal (about 400 words) including the following information:
  • Artist.
  • Artwork you have chosen.
  • The medium.
  • How you will show “the spirit” of the artist and the chosen artwork.
  • What social angle applies to the work

EXAMPLE: Here is a pdf file containing a proposal from a previous semester that earned an “A” to help give you an idea of what is expected. downloadto view the example.

Proposal: REQUIRED, you must get approval for your project or your project won’t be accepted.

  • Well-developed paragraph (at least 400 words) free of grammatical and spelling errors.
  • Addresses chosen artist/artwork/movement used as basis of project, the medium, and intentions to capture “the spirit of” that artist and specific artwork.
  • Contains steps to how you will create your artwork and a timeline for how long you estimate it will take
  • Contains an image of the inspiration artist/artwork/movement
  • Identifies social angle of artist/artwork/movement

Case Analysis for Wells Fargo Company

1. Problem Statement. You should provide a brief statement of the key problem in the case. Be sure to focus on a problem – not a symptom. Typically this is not more than 2-3 sentences. You should focus on one problem – even if the case has more than one. All of your subsequent analysis should be directly related to this problem.

2. Situation Analysis. Summarize the key factors of the situation that drive your subsequent recommendation and implementation. Don’t list all the facts. Situation analysis could include assessment of the 5 C’s (customers, competition, company, collaborators, and context). Focus on facts that are relevant to the problem statement.

Please, I need it exactly similar to the example below (Only from Problem statement to context). Also, I need reference page

Week 3 Discussion 1 CRJU 8350

Week 3 Discussion

Revolutionary Period Criminal Justice Implications

A common thread throughout this course is the intentional analysis of
criminal justice through a historical lens with the hope of
understanding deeply rooted issues within today’s U.S. criminal justice
system. In early colonial America, religion and customs borrowed from
England were the order of the day and the foundation of the American
criminal justice system. How did this particular colonial perception,
the understanding of criminal behavior, and the systematic response to
it affect underlying regional and cultural ideologies?

For this Discussion you compare characteristics of the system, from
the early American Revolutionary Period to today, as well as discuss
their impact on the current U.S. criminal justice system.

Post by Day 3, two crimes and their
respective punishments during the Revolutionary Period (1718–1797).
Explain one social and one political influence these crimes and
punishments had on the current U.S. criminal justice system.
